Shade Tree Commission
The Shade Tree Commission is a five member commission which advises the Borough Council on the planting, maintenance and removal of trees in the public right of way.
The Shade Tree ORDINANCE No. 601 governs the Commission guidelines. All trees within the public right-of-way fall under the Shade Tree Regulations. Permits are required for removal, pruning, trimming, planting, or altering of shade trees in the public right-of-way. The Shade tree ordinance was updated and put into effect in July of 2000.
The Wellsboro Shade Tree Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of the Month at 8:30 a.m. in the Council meeting room of the Borough Office at 14 Crafton Street.
